At this time next week, I’ll be a full-time author. Or unemployed with no prospects. Call it what you like. I’m okay with either. When people find out I’ve put in my notice and ask where I’m going, I say, “I’m just going.”

I then go into a lengthy explanation about how they might not know this about me, but I’m an author. I write books. Romance. Paranormal romance. Smut with demons and guys who are sometimes jaguars. It gets awkward, and then it gets more awkward because I can’t resist saying I don’t make enough to live off of from it. I don’t make enough for coffee from it, and that’s okay.

Despite working at a grocery store as a regular ole associate, I’m so introverted and frugal I’ve saved enough to just not work for about a year. If the writing thing doesn’t pick up steam, I’ll go back to my job. I know it’s a rough time to do something like this, and I’ve definitely gotten a couple of those lectures on how I should be thankful to have a job, but…

It’s been rough. Really rough. And we’re going into the season where it gets really rough. I don’t have it in me to get through the next couple of months there.

So I’m going to write. I’m going to market. I’m going to drown myself in all those webinars that will hopefully teach me all the things I haven’t gotten a hang of yet. I’m going to bust ass making this a career for myself.

And I’m going to start using Amazon countdown deals to their fullest, starting with another push on Magical Cave of Glowing Wonder. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s a weird story, where I’ve inverted paranormal erotic romance by focusing on the contemporary, ‘human’ side of the characters and adding SFF elements to it. I didn’t do it on purpose, I just didn’t understand the market at the time. But it’s a good story if you like erotic romance and don’t mind a bunch of weirdness thrown in. And it’s not quite an HEA, but now that the sequel Plus Three, is out, I promise you will get a happy ending.

Buy Magical Cave of Glowing Wonder for 99 cents, now through 9/23/20.

And if you want a more traditional paranormal romance, with demons and angels and incoming apocalypses and baked goods, A Halloween Angel For Hazel goes live on 9/25/20.
